Balancing The Budget

     As we sit and watch our "Fearless Leaders" in Congress fight over a debt ceiling, I want to know why we even keep a debt ceiling. The original purpose of a debt ceiling was like having a prepaid credit card. You have a limit determined by the amount you have prepaid, with a debt ceiling the country has a limit to which it could borrow up to that pre-set limit. But everytime we approach that figure, Congress votes to raise the limit. Now, our government, under BO's leadership, needs another $2.5 TRILLION added to their credit limit. Why not just do away with the debt ceiling altogether? Wouldn't that put a stop to this waste of time in Congress? Wouldn't keep our president from looking like an ass in front of the whole world? This has led to the fact that the Congress knows it has to cut spending somehow, that we can't continue to borrow money from other nations just to be able to continue paying interest rates on previous loans. Well, I have some figuring of my own that I believe will help lower Federal spending and not need to raise taxes.

     The very first thing that needs to be put through Congress and signed off on as law is the legalization of Marijuana. I know some of you will stop reading right here, but, please hear me out before passing judgement on this issue. First and foremost, it could be regulated like alcohol. Sell it only in a certified Liqour store. Must be 21 to purchase it, and tax it like alcohol. The tax revenue, if kept the same as alcohol, could pay off the national debt in 10 years. With that kind of cash flowing in each month we could lower the debt ceiling instead of raising it.
     Bring the troops home. We went to Iraq and Afghanistan for specific reasons. The weapons of mass destruction were removed from Iraq before we could get there and we liberated the country from the dictatorship of Saddam Husein. Now, we need to pack up ALL of our crap and come home. In Afghanistan, we removed the Taliban from power, we hunted down bin Laden and executed him. Now, we need to pack up ALL of our stuff and come home. This is costing the US approximately $1 billion per DAY. Not to mention, the billions we are pouring in to these two countries to prop up their governments, rebuild their infrastructure, and feed their people. The citizens of these countries absolutely HATE the US and everything we stand for, why remain.
     The United Nations. This is where we are being sucked dry of our money. The UN has turned the US arned forces into the World's Police Department. Why did BO get us involved in Libya? Fellow members in the UN needed our SUPERIOR military power to evict Qhaddafi. The reasoning behind this, same as our invading Iraq, is OIL. Libya is a supplier of oil to England and France. Qhaddafi is just to radical and threatening to allow him to have control of the flow of oil into these two countries. So, the UN says Qhaddafi is killing his opponents in Libya and it must be stopped. Once again, it is a Middle Eastern affair, that has been going on for thousands of years. But, who do they call on to stop this? The US. This is costing millions of dollars a DAY. Do these people care? No. The rebels, whom Hillary Clinton and BO have declared as the true government of Libya, have now decided that Qhaddafi can stay in Libya. Well damn, pack up ALL of our stuff and bring it home. Stop the financial support to the rebels, let them fend for themselves.
     Now, we bring our troops home, we start defending our own borders. There is no need to build a fence. We can use our troops to guard and protect our borders. If we can keep the illegal crossing into our country we can stop a lot of unneccessary expenditures on feeding, housing, and education of illegal immigrants. I know this may sound harsh, but, these people have the option of entering legally, but by doing so they would have to pay taxes. They don't want to pay taxes, they want to sponge off the American taxpayers and send their money back to Mexico. THIS HAS TO BE STOPPED!!!! This alone would save us millions everyday in unneccessary spending. When an illegal is caught, he should be carried to the border from which he crossed and sent back across. They use the loophole that if they are not Mexican citizens, but rather from another Central or South American country, then they can't be put across at the Mexican border, as the Mexican government will arrest them. Sorry, but tough shit. You came into our country by this route, that's how you are going back out. What about those arriving by ship? They will be returned by ship. It has to be dealt with, and it is so far gone that it will take harsh measures to clean up.
     We are going to have to lower taxes on businesses. If we would do this businesses would return to the US. The amount of businesses returning would cover the lost income by lowering the taxes. This return of lost businesses would bring back lost jobs, thus, lower the unemployment rate. The return of jobs would decrease the amount of unemployment money the government is shipping out each month.
     The government needs to do away with writting checks. We write 80 billion checks? People need to be put on direct deposit. If you get a social security check or whatever it is, you should be on direct deposit. Think of the savings on postage alone.
      This is just the start of my budget repair plan...call me a weirdo but this is all doable.
