As our Congress is trying to come up with economic solutions, they are met with inconsistent opinions from the White House. House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, criticized President Obama and White House officials for their lack of resolve in negotiations.
“Dealing with them the last couple months has been like dealing with Jell-o,” Boehner said. “Some days it’s firmer than others. Sometimes it’s like they’ve left it out over night.” This man was voted in, not because he could run a corporation, not because he could lead the armed forces, and certainly not because he was the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree.
I distinctly remember reports of Mr. President playing golf, while at the Capital building, Congress was fighting over how the debt-limit should be handled. Now with just three weeks remaining before the US borrowing ability will be shut down our President has decided it is time to get personally involved, by issuing threats that "Grandma is going to starve" because there will be no money available to pay her social security payment. DUH, where the hell have you been? Mr. President, wasn't it you that built up TRILLIONS of dollars of debt for the US?
Moody’s Investors Service put the U.S. under review for a credit rating downgrade as talks to raise the government’s $14.3 trillion debt limit stall, adding to concern that political gridlock will lead to a default.
The U.S., rated Aaa since 1917, was put on review for the first time since 1995 on concern the debt limit will not be raised in time to prevent a missed payment of interest or principal on outstanding bonds and notes even though the risk remains low, Moody’s said. The rating would likely be reduced to the Aa range and there is no assurance that Moody’s would return its top rating even if a default is quickly cured.
And now, the White House press secretary, Jay Carney, has announced that the press would not be allowed to yell questions out to the President. Seems that the White House doesn't want Obama to be seen snubbing his nose at or ignoring questions from the press. Wasn't he the press' "darling" when he was running for office? “It's an absurd reason to say that because we asked questions you're not going to allow cameras in there. He's capable of ignoring our questions. He does it all the time,” said Chip Reid of CBS.
How is the re-election going to fare when the press leaves the side of the Annointed One?
